The conservative morning show Fox & Friends on Monday used one of the world’s most popular gay anthems as they introduced all of GOP hopeful Mitt Romney’s five sons.

Fox News co-host Brian Kilmeade teased an upcoming segment with the Republican presidential candidate’s offspring as the music began to play and the camera panned over to the guests: “For the first time in history / It’s gonna start raining men!”

“It’s Raining Men! Hallelujah! – It’s Raining Men! Amen! / I’m gonna go out to run and let myself get / Absolutely soaking wet!”

The song “It’s Raining Men” was written in 1979 by David Letterman sidekick Paul Schaffer and gay songwriter Paul Jabara, who died of complications from AIDS in 1992. After being turned down by Donna Summer, Grace Jones and Diana Ross, the song was eventually recorded by one-hit-wonder The Weather Girls. The LGBT community adopted the song as a gay anthem, catapulting it to the number one song in 1982 and then again in 2001, when it was covered by British pop singer-songwriter Geri Halliwell.

“After all this is over, you’re going to be able to have a great life,” Shellie Zimmerman gushes in one April call. Zimmerman replies, “We will. … I’m excited.”

In the calls, Zimmerman gives Shellie detailed instructions about how to move money from one account to another, in what prosecutors say was an attempt to deceive the court into believing he was broke and setting a low bail figure. He makes many references to “Peter Pan,” an apparent code phrase for PayPal. The two appear confident that he will be exonerated—at one point Shellie calls him a “special and amazing role model.”

This is sick.

NYPD Loses OWS Trail After Video Evidence Proved They Made False Arrests
Hundreds have been arrested during the Occupy Wall Street protests, but photographer Alexander Arbuckle’s case was the first to go to trial – and after just two days, the Manhattan Criminal Court found him not guilty.
Arbuckle was arrested on New Year’s Day for allegedly blocking traffic during a protest march. He was charged with disorderly conduct, and his arresting officer testified under oath that he, along with the protesters, was standing in the street, despite frequent requests from the police to move to the sidewalk
But things got a little embarrassing for the NYPD officer when the defense presented a video recording of the entire event, made by well-known journalist Tim Pool.
Pool’s footage clearly shows Arbuckle, along with all the other protesters, standing on the sidewalk. In fact, the only people blocking traffic were the police officers themselves.
His lawyers said the video proving that testimony false is what swayed the judge, and the verdict a clear indication that the NYPD was over-policing the protests.

  • He followed Trayvon because Trayvon was black.
  • He called the police because Trayvon was black.
  • He jumped out of his car because Trayvon was black.
  • He got into a physical altercation with Trayvon because Trayvon was black.
  • He shot Trayvon in the chest because Trayvon was black.
  • He told police afterwards that he felt threatened by Trayvon because Trayvon was black.
  • The veracity of George Michael Zimmerman’s account of how he came to murder Trayvon Martin wasn’t questioned by police
  • because George Michael Zimmerman wasn’t black.

George Michael Zimmerman is clearly a paranoid racist. The police department in Sanford has a well documented history of ignoring or covering up crimes against non-whites that are committed by whites.

Trayvon Martin was running away from a person who was following him in an SUV. That person then murdered him, because that person is a paranoid racist with a gun.

Occam’s Razor, people. This isn’t complicated and it’s appalling that almost a month after Trayvon Martin was murdered, George Michael Zimmerman is still walking around as a free — and armed — man.

George Michael Zimmerman should be in jail right now, and the police department in Sanford should be under federal investigation. This outrageous “stand your ground” law needs to be overturned. Not tomorrow, not in a week, not in a month.

Right.

Fucking.

Now.
